People & Roles
Find and manage everyone on your platform, and control what each team member is allowed to do.
As an admin, you have a single place to manage everyone on your platform — learners, instructors, and fellow admins. You can also set up roles that control what each team member is allowed to do.
Managing people
Go to Admin → Users to see everyone on your platform. From there you can search, filter, view, create, edit, and remove people.
Finding people
A rich set of filters helps you find exactly who you're looking for:
| Filter by | Examples |
|---|---|
| Status | Active, pending, inactive, suspended. |
| Type | Learner, instructor, admin. |
| Verification | Whether email or phone is confirmed. |
| Location | Country, state, or city. |
| Dates | When they joined or were last active. |
Creating and editing people
- Go to Admin → Users.
- Click New to add a person, or open someone and click Edit.
- Fill in their details and Save.
Accounts you create from the admin area are active immediately — the person can sign in right away without a verification step.
Friendly IDs
Every person gets an easy-to-read ID based on their type — for example STU-001 for a student or INS-002 for an instructor. These make people simple to reference in support, reports, and conversations.
Bulk actions
When you have many people to handle at once:
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Export to spreadsheet (CSV) | Download a list of the selected (or filtered) people for your records or reporting. |
| Bulk delete | Remove many people at once. |
Roles & permissions
Roles let you decide what each team member is allowed to do. Instead of setting this person by person, you build a role once and assign it to anyone who should have that level of access.
A few examples of roles you might create:
- Course Admin — can manage courses and content, but not billing.
- Moderator — can manage discussions and comments only.
- Support — can view people and help them, but not change settings.
How roles work
- Create a role and give it a clear name.
- Choose what it can do — pick the allowed actions, neatly grouped by area (for example, people, courses, payments).
- Assign the role to the right team members.
That's it — anyone with that role can do exactly what the role allows, and nothing more.
Cloning a role
Need a role that's almost the same as one you already have? Clone it to copy all its allowed actions, then adjust the copy. This saves setting everything up from scratch.
Individual exceptions
Sometimes one person needs a little more (or less) than their role gives. You can grant a one-off exception to a specific person — handy for a temporary need without creating a whole new role.
Keep it simple: most teams need only a handful of roles. Start with the few that match how your team actually works, and add more only when a real need comes up.
What people see
Team members only see the parts of the admin area their role allows. Buttons and menus they can't use are simply hidden, so the platform stays clean and uncluttered for everyone.
