Publishing & the Catalog

The settings that control how a course or path goes live: seats, certificates, passing grade, enrollment, and more.

When your content is ready, a set of settings controls how it appears in your catalog and how learners experience it. The same settings apply to both courses and learning paths. This page is your checklist for going live.

The settings

SettingWhat it does

Statuses and the catalog

A course or path is always in one of these states:

  • Draft — only you and your team can see it.
  • Published — live in your catalog for everyone.
  • Private — hidden from your catalog. New learners cannot find it, and you enroll learners into it directly.
  • Archived — retired and no longer offered.

Use private for an exclusive or invite-only course. It stays off your public catalog, and you add learners yourself. See Admin and bulk enrollment.

How to publish

  1. Open your course or learning path.
  2. Open its Settings and fill in the fields above.
  3. Set the seat limit, passing grade, and turn on a certificate if you award one.
  4. Choose whether enrollment is open.
  5. Fill in the SEO slug and meta so the page reads well in your catalog and in search.
  6. Change the status to Published.

Managing many at once

From the courses and learning paths list, you can manage in bulk:

  • Duplicate a course or path to start a similar one quickly.
  • Bulk delete several at once.
  • Export to a spreadsheet (CSV) to review your catalog outside the platform.
  • Import courses or paths from a prepared file.

What the learner sees

In your catalog, learners see published courses with their thumbnail, title, difficulty, language, and tags. If you set a seat limit, they see "seats remaining". When enrollment is closed, they cannot join. If a course is password protected, they must enter the password to open it. Private courses do not appear at all — learners reach them only when you enroll them.

Tips

  • Fill in the SEO slug and meta before publishing so your course page looks polished in search and previews.
  • Set a passing grade and turn on a certificate together when you want learners to earn recognition.
  • Use duplicate to spin up the next term's version, then edit the dates and details.
  • Close enrollment when a cohort is full or a course is being updated.
