Filters

Narrow a list of search results by content type, status, and language — each option showing how many matches it has.

When a search returns a lot of results, filters help people zoom in on exactly what they want. Each filter shows a count next to it, so learners can see at a glance how many matches fall under each option before they click.

What you can filter by

FilterWhat it does
Content typeShow only one kind of result — for example, only courses, only products, or only blog posts.
StatusFilter by whether content is published, draft, or archived.
LanguageShow only results in a chosen language.

The count next to each option

Every filter option shows a number — how many of the current results match that option. For example, a search might show:

  • Courses (42)
  • Products (9)
  • Pages (5)

This tells the learner where most of the matches are before they even click. As they pick filters, the list updates to show only matching results.

How to use filters

  1. Run a search to get a list of results.
  2. Look at the filter options beside or above the results.
  3. Click an option — for example, Courses — to show only that kind of result.
  4. Add more filters to narrow further, or remove a filter to widen the list again.

What learners see vs. what admins see

  • Learners filter only across content that's published and available to them, so the Status filter mainly matters to admins.
  • Admins can use the Status filter to focus on drafts they're still working on, or on archived items.

The count shows matches within the current search, not your entire catalog. Change the search words and the counts change too.

Good to know

  • An option only appears when it has at least one match — empty options are hidden, so the filter list stays tidy.
  • Filters and the search words work together: filtering narrows the words you already searched for.
