Versions & Redirects
Roll back to an earlier version of a page, and send old web addresses to new ones so no link ever breaks.
Two safety nets keep your site tidy: a version history that lets you undo changes, and a redirect manager that sends old web addresses to new ones. Together they mean you can edit freely and rename pages without worrying about breaking links.
Version history
Every meaningful change is kept, so you can always go back.
| Feature | What it does |
|---|---|
| Automatic versions | The platform keeps earlier versions as you work, with no effort from you. |
| Named versions | Save a version with a name you choose (for example "Before summer sale"), so it's easy to find later. |
| Side-by-side compare | View an earlier version next to the current one to see exactly what changed. |
| Instant restore | Roll back to any earlier version in one click. |
How to roll back a page
- Open the page and go to its Version history.
- Browse the list of versions, or pick a named one.
- Use Compare to see what changed.
- Click Restore on the version you want.
Save a named version before any big change — a redesign, a price update, or a seasonal campaign. If it doesn't work out, restore in one click.
Redirects
A redirect sends a visitor from an old web address to a new one. This matters when you rename a page or move content — anyone who clicks an old link lands in the right place instead of hitting a dead end.
| Feature | What it does |
|---|---|
| Old → new | Map an old web address to its new home. |
| Redirect type | Choose how the redirect behaves — for example a permanent move versus a temporary one. |
| Hit counts | See how often each redirect is used, so you know which old links still get traffic. |
| Bulk import | Add many redirects at once instead of one by one. |
| Loop prevention | The manager stops you from creating a redirect that points back to itself in a circle. |
How to add a redirect
- Go to Admin → Website → Redirects and click New Redirect.
- Enter the old web address and the new web address.
- Choose the redirect type.
- Click Save.
Good to know
- Whenever you change a page's web address, add a redirect from the old one so existing links keep working.
- Hit counts help you spot popular old links that still need a redirect.
