Reusable Content
Build a section, lesson, or assignment once and attach it to as many courses as you like.
Some content belongs in more than one course — an onboarding lesson, a standard assignment, or a whole section you reuse each term. Instead of rebuilding it every time, you can create it once on its own and attach it wherever you need it.
What you can reuse
You can create these on their own and attach them to a course later:
- Sections — a ready-made group of content.
- Lessons — a single lesson of any type.
- Assignments — a task learners submit.
Once created, the same item can be attached to many courses, so your content stays consistent and you save time.
How to create reusable content
- Go to Admin → Courses and open the area for the item you want — Lessons, Sections, or Assignments.
- Click New and build the item just like you would inside a course.
- Click Save. The item now exists on its own, ready to attach.
How to attach it to a course
- Open the course you want and go to the Curriculum (content) area.
- Click Add and choose to add an existing lesson, section, or assignment.
- Pick the item you created earlier.
- Click Save. It now appears in the course outline.
Tips
- Build a small library of standard lessons (welcome, how-to-study, course rules) and reuse them across every course.
- Reusable assignments keep your grading consistent when you run the same task in different courses.
- To copy an entire course outline as a fresh starting point, use clone the curriculum from Course structure instead.
