How your platform protects against repeated failed sign-ins, how account deletion works, and the growth stats available to admins.
Your platform includes built-in protection to keep accounts safe, along with a clean way to delete an account and a view of how your audience is growing.
Protection against repeated failed sign-ins
To stop someone guessing a password, your platform watches for repeated wrong attempts:
- Too many wrong tries temporarily locks the account. The person simply waits and tries again later.
- The wait grows with each new round of failures, so guessing becomes slower and slower.
- Abusive sources are blocked for a while when they show clearly bad behavior.
- A successful sign-in clears it — once the right password (or code) goes in, things return to normal.
This all happens automatically. There's nothing to switch on.
If a learner says they're locked out, the usual fix is simple: wait a little, then try again — or use Forgot password to reset it. A correct sign-in clears the lock.
Account deletion
A person can delete their own account whenever they choose.
- They'll be asked to confirm with their password. (If they only ever used social sign-in and never set a password, no password is needed.)
- All of their signed-in devices are signed out immediately.
- The account moves to a deleted state — hidden from view, with the record kept for a short while before final cleanup.
See the account statuses for how "deleted" fits with the other states.
Deletion ends access right away. If someone is unsure, suggest they step away first — deactivating or simply not signing in is often enough, without losing their account.
Growth stats
As an admin, you can see how your audience is growing — totals and trends over time. It's a quick way to track how many people are joining and how that's changing.
You'll find these in your admin dashboards alongside your other reports.
