Profiles & Devices

Edit a profile, change an email or phone, and see and manage every device that's signed in.

Each person has a profile they can fill in, plus a list of the devices currently signed in to their account. This page covers both.

Editing a profile

Anyone can update their own profile from Profile → Edit (or Settings). A profile can include:

  • Name and avatar (profile picture)
  • Short bio and a longer summary
  • Timezone and language/region (locale)
  • Gender and date of birth
  • Address
  • Designation, profession, and expertise tags
  • Social links

The more complete a profile, the better — especially for instructors, whose profile details can appear publicly next to their courses.

Timezone matters more than it looks. It affects how dates, deadlines, and live session times appear to that person, so encourage everyone to set it correctly.

Changing an email or phone

A person can update the email address or phone number on their account. For safety, each change is confirmed with a one-time code sent to the new email or phone — the change only takes effect once that code is entered. See Verification.

  1. Go to Profile → Security (or Settings).
  2. Enter the new email or phone.
  3. Enter the code that arrives to confirm it.

Signed-in devices

Everyone can see every device that's currently signed in to their account. For each one, they'll see the device or browser and a rough location.

This is useful for spotting anything unexpected — for example, a sign-in from a place or device they don't recognize.

Ending a session

ActionWhat it does
End this sessionSigns out the selected device.
End all other sessionsSigns out every device except the one being used right now.

Ending all other sessions is the quickest fix if a phone or laptop is lost or stolen — it locks everyone else out instantly while keeping the person signed in where they are.

  1. Go to Profile → Security (or Settings) → Devices / Sessions.
  2. Find the device in the list.
  3. Click End session, or End all other sessions to clear them in one go.
